Community Activities
Pinnacle Inc. endeavors to provide people with a disability the opportunity to enjoy additional positive experiences.
In addition to the day-to-day programs, services and paid work options that we conduct, we provide additional opportunities for people to be exposed to various other life experiences that they may not necessarily have had the opportunity to try, enjoy and benefit from.
These experiences include :
Ten pin bowling, participating in All-Ability cricket events at a local, regional and State level, competing in the Tri State Games - a week-long sporting event, discos and dances, bocce, lawn bowls, out and about trips, Awakening Concert in Horsham, annual Having A Say Conference in Geelong, shopping trips, football at the MCG, car rally and cultural events.
All these experiences are valuable to learning, development and enjoying your community.

Tri State Games
The Tri State Games is a week-long sporting event between athletes from the States of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia. They are held over the second week of November of each year and has grown over the years to become Australia's largest 'grass-roots' athletics carnival for people with a disability.
Over 300 athletes with the support of around 150 coaches, carers and other assistants from across the three States, compete both individually and for their teams during the weeklong carnival. The Games focus on promoting active participation, friendly competition and positive social interaction.
One of the main attractions of the Tri State Games is that it offers an opportunity for people with a significant/profound disability to participate in sporting activities that they may generally not have had an opportunity to try.
Each year, Pinnacle, both in Ararat and Stawell, train and send teams of eight athletes to the Games to compete in a variety of events such as swimming events, track & field athletic events, bocce, pool, table tennis, as well as a number of other individual and team events.
Social functions are held and enjoyed on a nightly basis, culminating with the Grand Finale presentation night being held on the Friday night of the last day of competition.

All-Abilities Cricket
Pinnacle Inc.'s former organisations established an annual Grampians All-Abilities Cricket Carnival in 2001. Up to 12 teams made up from agencies in our region, plus teams from Skene Street Special School in Stawell and a team from Mildura compete in the two-day event.
The Carnival provides over 120 people with a disability the opportunity to represent their local community, with between 30 and 40 players representing Ararat and Stawell. Participants enjoy the healthy experience of playing the game and socialising with fellow competitors and supporters.
Following our first tournament, we approached Cricket Victoria to auspice the program and to drive its development and growth throughout Victoria. Since the first Cricket Victoria State Carnival in 2007, we have been sending representative teams to the State Carnivals each year, creating opportunities and pathways for participants with a disability to be selected to represent their State of Victoria and ultimately the Australian team, which the Grampians region have had players selected in for a number of years. All-Abilities Cricket is now enjoyed by thousands of people across Victoria, with Cricket Australia now driving it's development in the other States of Australia.
Since the inception of the first All-Abilities Cricket Carnival in Mildura in 2010, we have also been sending teams each year to support and participate in their event.
