Respite
Pinnacle offers a range of innovative and flexible respite options for families in the Ararat, Stawell and surrounding communities. Families who are caring for a child or adult with an intellectual, physical, neurological or sensory disability or an acquired brain injury may be eligible for services. The services that are available are;
In Home Respite
A staff person can attend the family home whilst the carer has a break. The person is able to receive social, recreational
and personalised care whilst in familiar surrounds of their home.
Community Access
This enables staff to facilitate an outing for the person with a disability whilst providing the carer/s with a break. The activities may include but are not limited to social, sporting, youth groups and places or events of interest.
Kids Club (Stawell)
Children's activity group currently occurring on Wednesday afternoon with pick up from Skene Street School or Home. The group activity occurs for two hours after school. The children socialise and engage in leisure and social activities. Children are aged between 5-17 years of age.
Computing Group (Ararat)
People interested in computers gather together to socialise and share a common interest on a weekly basis.
Social Group (Stawell)
Young adults with familiar interests engage in activities for a day on the weekend to maintain friendships whilst engaging in activities locally e.g. festivals, sporting events, local entertainment, concerts, or other activities.
Monthly Program (Ararat)
An activity day is planned once a month for children from the Ararat and Stawell districts. The various indoor and outdoor activities are enjoyed by a group of approximately 12 children between 8-14 years of age.
Facility Based Service (Ararat)
Pinnacle can provide short term accommodation for children and adults with disabilities in the Ararat and Stawell communities and surrounding districts. The facility is a four bedroom home with modern facilities. It has a large kitchen/dining area, separate lounge, additional family/rumpus room, two bathrooms/toilets, is fully accessible and has fenced backyard with purpose built playground.
Innovative Respite
Respite assistance can be provided for those with high support needs as a result of physical and/or health needs or if specific supports required as a result of behaviours of concern. Referals and support can also be made for carer supports with Grampians Community Health.
Eligibility
Pinnacle's services are offered subject to funding and available places. Fee for service options are also available.
To be eligible for the NDIS you must be under 65 years of age and have a permanent impairment that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities or have a developmental delay.
